Admission for Graduate School

Requirements

  • Common Requirements:
  • Parents’ citizenship would not be Korean
  • Must hold TOPIK(Test of Proficiency in Korean) Level 3 or above

(If you would be involved in a research project of the prospective adviser, you can submit official record of English test instead of TOPIK)

  • Master, Integrated Master & Doctoral Program:
  • Bachelor’s degree holder or those who are expected to obtain Bachelor’s degree
  • Doctoral Program:
  • Master’s degree holders or those who are expected to obtain Master’s degree

Application Period

  • Spring Semester (Starting in March) – November
  • Fall Semester (Starting in September) – May

Tuition

Application fee: 70,000 KRW (must be paid when submitting the application)

Admission Process

Applications from inside of Korea:

  1. Applicants send(via post or visit) the required documents to the Office of Graduate School / Wire Application Fee
  2. Myongji reviews the documents and conducts interviews from the department
  3. Applicants make a payment for admission fees and tuition
  4. Myongji sends out Certificate of Admissions and Certificate of Payment
  5. Applicants visit the Immigration Office in Korea to Change a visa type.

Applications from outside of Korea(except China, Cuba, Iraq and Afghanistan)

  1. Applicants send(via post) the required documents to the Office of Graduate School / Wire Application Fee
  2. Myongji reviews the documents
  3. Applicants make a payment for admission fees and tuition
  4. Myongji sends out Certificate of Admissions and visa documents
  5. Applicants visit Korean Embassy / Consulate located in their home country to apply for visa
  6. Applicants arrive in Korea

Applications from China, Cuba, Iraq and Afghanistan

  1. Applicants send(via post or visit) the required documents to the Office of Graduate School / Wire Application Fee
  2. Myongji reviews the documents
  3. Applicants make a payment for admission fees and tuition
  4. Myongji requests the Immigration Office in Korea for visa approval of those who apply from the above-mentioned countries
  5. Myongji informs students of the visa approval number by e-mail
  6. Applicants visit Korean Embassy / Consulate located in their home country to apply for visa with the given visa approval number
  7. Applicants arrive in Korea

07. Recommendation Letter by professor or academic adviser
08-1. The Official Transcript of TOPIK(Test of Proficiency in Korean) Level 3 or above within a term of validity
08-2. The Official Transcript of English Test TOEFL-iBT 80, IELTS 5.5 or above within a term of validity
(only in case of participation in research project of prospective adviser)
09. Certificate of Korean Language Course attended, if any
10. A Photocopy of the Passport (personal information page)
11. A photocopy of the Applicant’s alien registration card
(only in case of foreign applicants who reside in Korea at the moment of application)
12. Release of Information Authorization (Undergraduate)
13. Release of Information Authorization (Graduate)
14. Application Fee (USD$70) or remittance document
